Tips

I have developed lists of French resources since I began learning the language in 8th grade. The materials, therefore, range from language-acquisition to scholastic. Tailored to my interests, the following, non-exhaustive lists aim to help French learners at all levels.

"Study Tools" provides websites for beginners and covers the subjects that I have found pertinent: phonetics, literary analyses, and writing. Likewise, "Daily French" targets beginners and is based on ways that I have integrated French into my routine.

Even more specific to my interests, "Digitized Materials" is mostly documents, images, and databases that have guided my research projects. This page will be most useful to people studying French literature.

Of course, traveling is the best way to enhance language skills. I studied abroad in Aix-en-Provence and in Strasbourg, experiences you can read about here and start planning your own voyage.

While researching in French, I like to start with Wikipedia, Google, and Google Scholar in English AND in French. Just use ".fr" instead of ".com" for the French versions. This technique works for any language.

Yale University has a list of more authoritative databases.
